Monitor Resolution and Color

For best on-screen viewing of your pictures, set your monitor resolution to 800 by 600 or 1024 by 768, and the display color to High Color (16-bit) or True Color (24-bit).

1. Depending on your operating system, choose Start Settings Control Panel or Start Control Panel.

2. Double-click the Display icon and then click the Settings tab.

3. Do the following.

u Resolution. In the Screen area, drag the slider to either 800 by 600 or 1024 by 768.

u Colors. From the Colors drop-down menu, select either High Color (16-bit) or True Color (24-bit).

4. Click OK.

If you cannot obtain these settings, your video card and monitor may not have the ability or memory to support them. Contact the video card manufacturer to determine if your card can support these settings and how to upgrade the card, if possible.
